I was at one of the chemical plants today and I saw a millwright throw an impact in the scrap pile. I asked him about it and he told me it didn't work and they don't repair anything under 1/2" drive. He said I could have it and I threw in in the truck. I can home took it apart, cleaned it and it works fine. Anyone know if this is a good gun or an approx age?

Dresser Model DS-WP3 3/8" Pistol grip impact.

Nice find, probably replaced by some Chinese **** that wont be as good or last as long. That one probably only failed because I'd bet they didn't oil it properly.

When I hook it up air just passed through and nothing moved. This was the first impact that I ever took apart. I just cleaned/oiled it and it fired right up. The only thing is the drive lug is missing the clip or ball that holds socket on. but for the price i'm happy!

I will say that the new impact that he got from the tool room was not a cheap import but a high dollar Cleco!

That looks like a redressed Chicago Pneumatic 721. If it is they are excellent impacts for the small size.
