One more tool storage question LOL

Ok. Here's my question. I have quite a few mechanics tools, woodworking tools and possibly plan to expand into gun smithing as well. Would it be a better idea to buy separate tool storage chests for each category of tool usage or buy one big one to store them all in?

I have separate tool boxes for my mechanical work and my contractor work. Makes it easier to find specific tools and doesn't aggravate me to all hell when there's **** where it shouldn't be... Even if I put it there.

I have my main tool box with general tools. Then I have a few tool boxes/bags that have different specialty tools in it. The boxes include Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall.
These are smaller categories but it is nice to have all specialty tools in one box to grab when something needs to be.....

I have 3 x 26" craftsman towers and a HF 5 drawer cart for all my main tools. A seperate roller cabinet for my dremels and angle grinders. A portable large box for electrical and 2 for plumbing... and a bucket containing "it's freakin clogged" tools and accessories. I have a wooden machinest box for those tools.

All that said... I prefer seperately organized sets of tools.

mechanics stuff, and fab tools stay in the garage,

woodworking, DIY house repairs, machinist tools, ect stay in my my reloading room in the basement. i have several drawers under my "woodworking" bench for hand tools, power tools i keep on a wire rack shelf.

as seasons change, a few things get moved back and forth, corded drills, and cheap jigsaw i leave in the garage during nicer weather, all my cordless stuff stays in the house.

recent garage pic...
