One piece garage door hinges for outside gate

I see single piece doors replaced with multi-piece doors on garage often.

For an outside gate between a building and a block wall, is there any reason the E-900 hardware and P738 (dependent on weight) would have issues?

The panel would ideally be full width and flush at the face of the building. So to fit the hinges, I believe attaching square tube or wood at each wall, and similar on the back of the panel would allow these hinges to fit.

Any better solutions?

You want to walk under it then? How dang tall is this gate. I vividly remember bill (duckbill for you old dudes) telling me he had to look up at you and bill aint little by any means.

Anyhow, back on track. If used per its intended design, ya it’d work but it might not be real happy living outdoors ya know.

But if the only reason you want this type of bracket is to spread the attachment points out between block courses and or the gate. How about I build you a swing version that’ll accommodate the structures, be heavy duty, last a whole bunch of years and I guarantee you, look way better

Just curious if this is the type of garage door hinges used in the 60s for a solid panel garage door?
If so I doubt it would last very long and rust out with in a couple years at most.
What is the overall plan of what is trying to be done here?

It's 6 foot-ish. So, shorter than me. Because of wall features, I will be narrowing it if re-used. Which means I may make a new one. I am not sure yet what city code might apply to height. Added height wouldn't hurt, for headroom. Access to ride a bike out with a helmet would be nice, but the E-900 doesn't raise it much over the top height. But, since there is only a corner of a roof to intrude, maybe I can fudge higher on installation height of the brackets and get that headroom.

Swing like to the side(s)? I am kinda fascinated at the overhead pivot idea at this point.

It's dry here. I don't think the manufactured version lends itself to zerks, but it will probably last with maintenance.

Add something that opens. Be able to access the backyard / side yard. Not have much interference with the wall / yard.
