Has anybody had any dealing with this site, good or bad? I have been trying to find out whether I should place an order but can't find anything about them bar for a few short references. Thanks!

I have used KMS before - unfortunately they don't carry the items that I'm trying to order. I need/want some Klein slide racks and have had a terrible time finding them without crossing the border. Cheers!

Well I jumped in with both feet and placed my order just before New Years. My items arrived today and I am very pleased. Won't hesitate ordering from them again...Looks like a winner.

Just ordered a couple items from them over the weekend. The free shipping sucked me in! Hope the rest of the process goes as smoothly as the ordering did!

Did you receive your items yet? How did it go? They claim to have over 50 years in the business and no one has ever heard of them before? Seems very strange to me. Their website also does not say where they are located at all.

Not too impressed so far. When I originally made the order, the auto reply said it may take as long as 7-10 business days to arrive. Well, after I was well past the 10 business days, I decided to email and ask for the status of the order. Finally got an email this morning stating that my items will ship tomorrow and that I'd receive tracking then. I'm guessing the order got misplaced or something of the sort. I'll see tomorrow if they actually ship it.

It has not shipped yet after 2 weeks since placing the order? I read the same thing happened to a guy from Montreal in a different review somewhere. I have my doubts that this company is even in Canada which might explain why they take so long to ship things.

If you ever receive your package, please let us know the return address on it or where it says the package came from. Their website says NOTHING about where Blackrock Tools is located. Even if the return address says somewhere in Canada, be sure to check for Chinese stamps or Chinese postal markings anywhere on the package.

I guess I'll know where they are when I get the tracking info. They only use purolator and Canada post to ship so I'm guessing they are in Canada somewhere.

No updates/tracking yesterday so I emailed last night. Got shipping info this morning. Very cut and dry email. Maybe I upset them? Lol
Anyways, according to Canada post, it's on it's way. Originated from Sarnia/ London, ON.
Fingers crossed! Lol

Well, the package finally arrived today. Everything made the trip fine as it was packed very well. The return address on the box is London Ontario but they could still be a drop shipper. Doesn't matter to me as they offer free shipping in Canada and their prices are pretty good. I'm hoping the length of time it took to get my order to me was a rarity. I'll give them another shot down the road if they have anything else i need for sure.

I have been just lurking looking at peoples tool collections and thought I would check this section out and seen that Blackrocktools was mentioned. I placed 2 orders with these company. The first was early this year for a Ridgid drain cleaner which was cheaper than most other sites. It took a few weeks before it showed up but I am happy with it. The next order I placed was for a 3/4" drive metric socket set and some fillers to make the free shipping. It took a couple weeks before it showed up. Both times I had to wait before the shipping notice showed up. I think it is obvious these guys don't actually keep everything in inventory but wait for it to show up at their warehouse then ship it out. For the prices I am willing to wait. If I need it bad enough I can always go to a brick and mortar to buy it. Always use your credit card for ordering and If it does not show up and you have been billed, dispute the charge with your CC company. I learned my lesson by losing around $100 by just dealing with emails back and forth with a company that took my cash then shut down - Boss Tools

Just ordered a Dewalt SDS drill and grinder combo from them. Placed the order Saturday night (knowing they wouldn't process it until monday morning), got the order has shipped email wednesday morning saying the order had shipped tuesday and the order arrived before noon on thursday. That qualifies as pretty damn quick to me, no complaints at all and everything showed up in great shape and an extra big box protecting it all. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them and its always been good. The shipping is a little slow but they are alot cheaper then most places on alot of other stuff. Another site I like is jccayer.com for power tools.

I don't normally promote companies, but after reading some of the posts and deciding to give them a try, I felt I had to. I ordered a Dewalt battery on Monday evening, and it was delivered the following Wednesday! I found this outstanding! I would certainly not hesitate to order anytime from these guys.

Contacted them about a brand they carried but the specific model I was looking for wasn't listed on their site. They had it added within a couple days, ordered it, took a couple weeks to come in but was back ordered from the manufacturer. Still quite happy. Also had forgot about the coupon for a free tshirt I got from my first order, sent them an email and they updated the order within a day and shirt came as expected.

Bringing this up from the dead since this is one (of extremely limited) info that pops up when googling blackrock tools. The lone bbb complaint for them shows a post office box that is local, and like everybody else, I never heard of them, especially for being around for 50 years and being "local". Their facebook says 10 warehouse locations across Canada, but like their website, they are missing location details. That alone sends a red flag up for me.

According to Bloomberg company information
BlackRock Tools Inc. operates as a subsidiary of W.W. Grainger, Inc.

Putting it together, seems like Blackrock tools is a "tool truck" style outlet that operates only online via 3rd party operating out of their house that doesn't require any signup or account for the buyer. So, given the tie in to grainger, I guess it gives them some additional validity/legitimacy. Given the aboves post to get an item not on their website, I'd be guessing if you can get it from grainger (Canada) you can get it from this operation.

Alex.
