I wish steel suppliers would put there prices online. It would make pricing projects a whole lot easier! I don't think anyone in the DFW area does. What a pain.

Steel is priced per pound. Once you know the per-pound price for average structural shapes in your area you can get a pretty good idea on full-stick prices if you know the weight.

Online short-order suppliers are substantially more expensive.

Looking for 1x1x14ga 20 Ft. or 24 Ft. qty 15 tubing and 2 1/2x 2 1/2 14 ga tubing 20 ft. qty 2

Discount steel is approx 50 miles away in Ft. Worth. Too far for this quantity.

Looking for a place more on the Dallas side of town.

I can buy and price just about everything on the web but raw material.

Just interesting!

You'll find most commercial products distributors are that way, with a few exceptions. It can be difficult as it's so much faster to do business via the internet for most average orders.

However, I've found once outfits get online, their prices skyrocket relative to the competition.
