Any body else getting frustrated with the amount of time it takes to get items ordered online?
I frequently order tools and supplies online from various venders.I set up a separate bank account with a Visa debit card to use only for online and phone purchases, both to prevent major fraud problems and to keep better track of my purchases.Enough money is kept in this account to cover any purchases and charges,so there is never a problem getting approvals.
Recent ordersplaced with Harbor Freight,Amazon.com and Northern Tool have all taken several days to even get processed. For example,an order I placed on 11/1 with Northern is still pending today((11/5).All items ordered were in stock, delivery in 4-6 business days. An order from HF took 14 business days before UPS got the package(again, all items in stock at time of order).Amazon got part of an order out in 3 days, backordered 1 piece, and the backorder is going on 3 months.Order that same item now and it's shown in stock.
What takes so long to process?Credit/debit card approvals take only seconds now,and by ordering online,we're doing most of the order entry work for them.
Sorry for the rant, but I think these outfits should do better.

Most online companies doing sales are now just middle men. They take your order and money and then notify the manufacturer to drop ship you the item. When they say they have it "in stock", it isn't them that have the item in stock it is someone else. So basically two companies have to process your order and make $$$ transactions essentially doubling the time it should take.

Many use "fullfillment" houses that stock, pack and ship everything. They are only as good as they are.

I have picked up tractors at Northern Tool in MN....seems they are WAY too busy for the amount of help they have.

I have some I use that are slow but Tool source and Tool Topia ship quickly. Ntxtools is cheap but they are shipped from the factory. Matco,Snap-on,and Mac are quick shippers.

Mainly for me its ebay sellers are slow as hell. MAC, Snap on and SJ discount tools always ship same day and I get them within 3 days which is hard to beat.

Hello all,

Does anyone here have experience with www.ntxtools.com and could give me and idea of how fast they are (or slow) to ship orders? I was weary about ordering form them to begin with (but did anyway) because they do not list an address on the website. Only ntx, www.tooldiscounter.com and www.usatoolwarehouse.com (same phone number as ntxtools.com) carry what I am looking for as far as I could tell. It's a Diesel Fuel Restriction Tester w/Compucheck fitting from Star products, and it is an extra $60 if I would of bought directly from Star.

I also had our parts guy at my shop order a box of compucheck fittings from Imperial parts so I could just make a adapter for my regular vacuum gauge, but they forgot to put them in our last order. Some days you can't win for losing.

Nope, there are only two things that I buy online that I am generally in a hurry to get. 1.) Computer parts (had a stick of ram die on me randomly so I picked up two 1 GB sticks for $33 shipped with a $20 MIR) and textbooks. When I have placed tools orders or parts orders it is generally in anticipation of needing them shortly after they arrive and thus not a big deal.

The tools I've got from usatoolwarehouse from their Ebay auctions have always showed up in less than a week. The thing that irritates me with them is that they don't repackage. They stick a UPS label on whatever box your tool comes in and tape it closed and that's it. No brown box, bubble wrap, or extra protection.:wtf:
As others has said, in stock might not mean with the vendor but, in their warehouse which might be on the opposite coast.

I'll never buy from usatoolwarehouse again! I went through their website for a Sunex pry bar cabinet, paid for it and after a week and half I called them and asked where it was? I was told that it is a non-stock item and that they will be ordering it and I should have it in another 1 and half weeks. The dingbat women on the phone told me that the website doesn't list that it is in stock....I told her that almost every other website lists when things are in stock and that people expect things to be in stock if you are listing them for sale. That turned me off of them for good, my last order with them.

I am having problems getting an item from Tooltopia, I ordered almost a month ago and still haven't received one of my tools. I have ordered about $2,000 in tools from them this year and have had good luck until this order.

Im waiting on a horrible ebay seller for some tool I won. Won and paid on 6/11 he shipped 6/16 and I still have not received. The tracking number he gave me says item was accepted on 6/16 but has not been updated since.

It happens I guess....

If this was FED EX or UPS call customer service ASAP, they do lose stuff. If its the US Postal, I don't know what to tell you, everytime I've complained to them I would of been better off talking to my toilet....at least I can flush my toilet and reduce the amount of sh*t.

Their order status doesn't seem to be updated in real time. When they send your tracking number you'll see that they probably shipped it today. At least that's been my experience with them.

Well I emailed Tooltopia today to see when the rest of my order is going to ship out, I ordered on June 6th and now the new ship date is July 12. I have asked twice for a refund two different times and they just give me a new ship date. I am about to stop payment if they continue to ignore my request for a refund.
