If you could only have 1 tool box what would you choose. Specifically, would it be a top box or a rolling chest, tool cart, something all together different. Discuss...:headscrat

If I could only choose one, it would be a big *** bottom box. It'll give you plenty of storage and you can use the top of it as a work area.

If you chose a top box, you'd have to sit it somewhere, like on a bench, losing work area.

Ironically, I think most of us probably started years ago with a top box and went from there.

One tool box????? That's heresy!!!! I believe you could get stoned for making a comment like that on this forum!!!! :lol_hitti OK, enough stupid remarks - If I could only have one box it would be a very large bottom box (a 3 bay size or larger). That being said, I have WAY too many tools to fit in one box (even a very large bottom box), so again I say: one box, are you kidding??!!

I second the Snap On Mr. Big 12 Foot Long KRL1065. The price for one of those to me is do-able in the near future!

Saying just one toolbox is subjective. My four piece set is classified as one toolbox in my world.

I just brought that set home and got a KRL1023 for work. It's pretty good but I think I'll be adding a top box at some point.

If I had to choose just one toolbox right now I'd have to pick the Tool utility vehicle

One box or one box set? If just one box I'd get the Mr. Big box posted above. If I can get one set then I'd hunt down a mint set of red/grey CM boxes. Bottom, center, and the largest top box.

Something like the one I have now:

The OP has set the bar with his first post, not a set, it's one or the other.

I'm calm, it was just a joke! I said it before someone else did (and I'm sure someone would have!).

If only one, it would have to be a bottom box. It's rolls, you can use the top for a work surface, and if you have a need for smaller compartments, you can put dividers or containers in a drawer or two.

A top box just sets there. All lonely by itself and only gets company when someone is in need of something.

The biggest rolling bottom box i could possibly find.

Although honorable mention goes to a well thought out roller cart with the tools i need, and nothing i don't.

it's highly unlikely that i'll ever have all my tools in one place,
but i'd need a quad bay roller.

i figure the only time all my tools will ever be together is the day after i'm dead. old lady willl be having a garage sale....

That reminds me of an old joke...

A car collector dies and his best friend calls on the widow as she's making final arrangements for her husband.

"Ma'am, I hate to bother you at a time like this, but I always was fond of Bill's old Ford, and well, you know, I'd like to buy that car. Do you think that someday you might be able to part with it?"

The widow looked the friend in the eye, "Can you bring a trailer to the funeral?"

The reason I posted the question... I have a 41" husky top box that I made a wooden cart for it to roll on. I'm trying to decide whether to stay with that or pick up a bottom chest. I don't really have enough tools to warrant it now. It seems as if I always have to do things twice...my way and then the right way.

Stick around here long enough and you'll need that bottom box.
