I have been using Autodesk Fusion 360 for a while now, which I like. However, I came across this the other day. It's called Onshape. It's a free (up to 5 projects, the full version is $100/month) cloud based CAD program that only requires a browser window. No software to install. Literally just create an account and start. Thought I would put it out there for those that want to learn. There are quite a few videos under the help to get you started.

It works very similar to Fusion360, you are able to export dxf files for plasma, laser or waterjet cutting, or could export models for machining if you wanted. A major difference between this and Fusion is that there is no CAM module. There are some other nice features though like collaboration and people able to simultaneously work a model. I will be playing with it some more. I'm by no means an expert.

I use OnShape. I like it, but I've had trouble with it due to the required online connection. I'm stuck with a very slow internet connection and it causes a ton of problems.

Fusion 360 seems like a more finished product to me, but I definately see the benefits of OnShape.

It would definitely require a better internet connection that may not work for everyone. Can't win 'em all. It's just another option for those that are looking for something they can learn on. There are aspects of it that I like, however, I still prefer the overall feel of Fusion360.
