I've been trying to post a 100KB jpeg photo in one of my posts all day and I keep getting the message "Oops, we ran into some problems."

Anyone know what do do next to correct this?

Thanks!

No way it's 100KB. I get that error all the time when I try to upload images that are like 2MB+.

If you resize/compress them to under 1MB it will work.

I get that occasionally. Not with a picture though. I just back up and start over.

No idea.
I have to downsize ALL photos in the "what did you cook today?" thread.
I do NOT have to downsize photos of TOOLS. I am assuming this program is automatically re-sizing them, as when I download my own images here - which I had to do last week - they are somewhat smaller than those images I uploaded.
Might be a "free parking" thing.

I posted a 1.04MB photo yesterday without any errors and I've never had to resize a picture. I just take a Pic and post it.

Just checked, a Pic I posted last weekend was over 5 MB, I added it here to confirm, looks like GJ resized it to just under 2 MB1000003255.jpg

How is your upload speed with your isp? If it isn't fast/steady enough, I could see that posing a problem. I'm uploading with 300 megabit fiber

possibilities....
-there is a difference between JPG and JPEG
-limitation on the upload size depending on: format, # of files already uploaded
-meta-data of the picture file is corrupted
et cetera.....

I get a 403 forbidden in developer tools for /forum/attachments/upload when I try to upload anything large.

My upload speed is adequate any other time I upload photos. I think there must be some sort of server limitation on the GJ that perhaps fluctuates with traffic(?). I don't know. I'm not a techie.

Oh I see the issue now. It has to be on the GJ side. It looks like the Wordfence plugin is wacking my large uploads (to /forum/attachments/upload) with a 403. It's returning a, "A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site".

Maybe @Ryan can investigate?

Here is a very large file. I found it searching on Google for a 100 mb. Photo. Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t, but it sure looks WAY bigger than what the OP was having trouble with. If you are using a screen bigger than a cell phone try zooming in to enlarge and see the detail. Pretty cool photo if I say so myself.

From your phone ?

I can't remember exactly what the error is when I have tried to attach a picture every now and then. It won't upload.

Edit photo, save copy and attach the copy.
