Does anyone have a good source for opaque window film. The kind that will allow some light in but will give some privacy. McMaster sells it. Just want to find it elsewhere if possible. Some types are reusable; other types aren't. What's out there?:headscrat Thanks:thumbup:

Lowes also carries the film type you apply like window tint.
We put on the bathroom windows and it handles great. No issues with the moisture.
I can not remember the price. It was in the curtain section.

I use the Automotive window tint on my Garage windows, Go "Limo" tint, which is the darkest. Gives you privacy and It holds the glass together well on those older single pane windows, in case someone trys to break them.

"Translucent", not opaque... I have also been meaning to pick some of this up, but I can't decide if I should just get some of those old pull down curtains that still let a lot of light in. I don’t want to lose the light, but wouldn’t mind keeping prying eyes out. I just have a hard time imagining not being able to stare out the window every once in a while when I am working in the shop.

Ive used the lowes translucewnt film, it works great but is a B*()&% to work with. In my current house I removed the pella double hung window panes and had the glass sandblasted. They turned out awesome. Call around to some glass places or even a sandblaster. They look like they came from the factory.

the spray is the easiest, and works surprisingly well.

I wouldn't think the spray would work well. But maybe I'll give that a try.

If I can't find the film. I just need it for one window. I want to do the bottom half of it. Maybe 3' x 2' space.

I thought the same thing... I was thoroughly impressed...
I really had almost NO expectations for the spray, but I figured it was cheap and easy, so Id try it...

It worked so well, Im almost trying to find more stuff to spray... LOL..

just go to lowes or home depot and get a roll of frosted window film. when i bought my home, the old homeowner had this stuff on the glass panes in the main entry doorway and on the door to the rear deck. good stuff. lets a lot of light in but you can't see anything from the outside.

...or from the inside. Kinda defeats the purpose of a window IMO. Reason I just put blinds. If I need to see outside I can just pull the blind up.
