We’re looking for a DIYer in the Los Angeles area who wants to coat their garage floor with the Wolverine Coatings BondTite and LiquaTile Epoxies that some of the guys in this forum are raving about. And who wants to share their project with the world. And who wants a real good deal on the material. And who wants to be a celebrity and enjoy all the fame and fortune that comes with being a star. Well… maybe everything but the fame and fortune stuff.

We just started selling Wolverine coatings to the DIYers out there a few months ago, and one thing that several people have asked about is a “how-to” video. We were going to produce a basic step-by-step instruction video, but we’re toying with the idea of doing one a bit more real world, a short video of a real homeowner as he, or she, does one of the most rewarding small home improvement projects - coating their garage floor with Wolverine Coatings epoxy.

We’re looking for a nice looking garage with at least 2 car bays. It doesn’t need to have mahogany cabinets, but it should be clutter free with finished & painted walls. The current floors can be in any condition, although we’d rather not deal with fixing some piss-poor coating that the previous owner slapped down. The higher the ceiling, the better, and there should also be good AC power available. We’ll help with tech advice and some assistance, but we really want to show someone completing the project like any other homeowner. It would be nice if you’ve done some other DIY projects, and you should be the type who likes the finished product to be perfect, clearly you should already know what end of the brush to hold. Not that we mind helping people who don’t know that stuff, but for this particular project with the cameras rolling we’ll have enough things to monitor. Of course we’ll also help with material acquisition.

You’ll need to allow us to tape & photograph the process and use that material as we see fit. Even if we want to release it theatrically so we can benefit from all the Oscar buzz it will generate as it opens on 1,200 screens worldwide during the upcoming holiday season.

There won’t be any script for you to memorize, but we probably will record audio and talk with you throughout the project.

We hope to do this in the next few months, but we can’t pin down a firm date until we’re just a few weeks out. Our cinematographer and his crew are pretty busy, so we need to work around their schedules. There’s the possibility that this might not happen for several months. For that reason we’re looking for someone who can be pretty flexible with their schedule as well as tolerate the additional distraction of the cameras etc. The guys we work with are real pros, (they did and a bunch of shows I know most of you have seen, hint: think "Creature Garage") so they know how to stay out of the way and keep things relaxed and easy – it should be a fun experience.

If you’d like to participate, just email me with a little info about your garage and yourself.

Thanks!

Darn, too bad you're in SoCal. I'm here in Sacramento getting ready to frame up my garage (25' X 35'). But with my regular day job and 3 kids, my timeline is as uncertain as your crews!

Hummm... been lurking here for a bit, I live in the LA area and I have a new 20X40 garage under construction with a 20' cathedral ceiling (room for lifting my toys) and a 100amp sub panel to power it all up. I'm looking for someone to do the flooring within the next couple months. Although I'm doing the rough framing and electrical, the flooring scares me a bit. I'm kind of a perfectionist.... that said, I'm sold on the Wolverine Coatings. Worst case, if you don't come up with anyone else, maybe we can find someone who's not camera shy and I'll pay them to put it down while you film?

Jeez...not only do ones in Cali get alll the home makeovers, they get car makeovers, now garage makeovers. Doesn't anyone that lives in Podunk, USA, East of the Mississippi, ever get a good deal?:lol_hitti

Hmmm.. I have a 20x21 two-bay garage with a 40-year-old floor. A few cracks and stuff, but just bare concrete. I'm located in Orange County, CA, and I have "some" experience dealing with technical stories and such. lol - I want to eventually shoot tech stories in there and a decent floor would be great.

Here's a picture of my garage, it's clean and clutter free: http://picsorban.com/upload/pengarage8.jpg

Let me know if you're interested.

So, you are saying any one in the L.A. area, does that mean your sales area is limited to this area only? I might want to become a midwest dealer.:wtf:

We sell nationwide, heck we even sell in foreign lands like Canada and Utah!

However our offices are in Los Angeles, and the production crew and equipment we'll be using is in Los Angeles.

Well, plenty of people have worked with us because they like our products, the value our products offer, and our customer service. And other because they like the colors we offer. Still others bought from us because they mistakingly thought they were ordering a complete set of the Worldbook Encyclopedia.

Truth is Wolverine Coatings has a great reputation in commercial and industrial coatings because they have a fantastic line of epoxies and other products that beat the snot out of their competitors. I've had the pleasure of working with them for just a short time, but I hope our relationships lasts a long time. It's great to be associated with a company that really cares about its customers and can offer a great product at a good price. I'll admit we're not the cheapest, but we are the best value.

I'd like to go out and tape projects all over the world, and maybe some day we can. Right now we want to produce a short piece that will highlight the fact that almost anyone who will take the time to be careful and follow directions can end up with a great looking, durable and easy to maintain floor. At this point the project is limited to just one garage.

But what's not limited is our commitment to help anyone who wants the same high performance Wolverine floor coating system get it in their garage. No cameras needed.

I'm surprised... don't we need pics of the wives? :lol_hitti

Just Kidding... lol...

Anyway, we've got to limit the radius of this because film crews 'aint cheap'! Fred used to work in Hollywierd and the crews he is talking about aren't like a local unknow group. These are extemely high paid professionals who have done work that you have seen on TV. In fact, you may have even seen work that Fred did... although... he probably won't admit it...

Fred,

If you can't find anyone in LaLa land, and would consider making the trek down the road to San Diego, I might be interested.

If San Diego is too far, maybe I could ship the garage floor up to LA? :bounce:

I'm in the Santa Clarita Valley......

The garage is about 20x20, a standard 2-car. It's painted/decorated Harley style with a bar, 32" flat screen TV, cabinets, etc. It does double duty as a hangout, and storage/work area for my car and 4 Harleys.

It just so happens the only thing missing is a nice floor.........must be fate:bowdown:
