Doing some looking around to see what the prices are on these Snap-on was 715$ (30*x60*),
Wright/Martin (15*x60*)was about 240$ from Epsteins, Both set's are 3/8 to 1-1/4. Williams makes them too (15*x60*), but they dont have a 15/16 apparently, So I didnt bother looking into them any further. S-K does not list any apparently

Is the 30* open end really worth the extra 475$? Seems hard to justifiy the extra. I know it'd be great to have.

I realize the used market would be less, but I'm just seeing whats available right now at retail price. It'll probably be a couple months before I buy any, either way.

This summer, I had ordered a V8 angle wrench set that was supoused to be 30*x60*, but turned out to be an "old stock" 15*x60*, so I returned it. I wasnt too impressed with the look of them (cheap) plus the 1/2 had very bad broaching on one end.

Yes it's worth it. A regular combo has the 15 degree open end so the 30 degree opens up a needed option. You don't often NEED angle wrenches or a 30 degree but when you are in the middle of splitting a tractor and you can't get a line undone you will wish you had that 30 degree angle lol.

Love me some 30/60 degree angle wrenches. Not worth having unless they are 30/60 offset. The whole purpose is to give you two more options than a regular combo wrench.

Only other brand with 30*x60* angle wrenches is ATD: http://atdtools.com/1181

If I ever run into V8/ATD set(s) and they look OK, I'll probably buy them. Mailordering I'm leery because I may have to send them back.

Don't like paying Snap-On prices, even used, for something I'll rarely need.

Go with Snap On. No question about it.

The best price would be used. I'm not really sure what you'll be working on, but is a set to 1 1/4 needed? I have two sets of Snap On, one at work which goes to 1" and my home set goes to 1 5/16 ( I used to work on farm tractors and equipment). I very rarely use the wrenches above 3/4" now, and use above 1", probably twice a year; so you might think about getting the 3/8-3/4 set and buying the other wrenches separately when needed or the funds are available.

i have never used the snap on ones but i have the mac set and i am pleased with them. for how often i need them now i couldnt really ask for much more thats what you have to consider. the price difference is not worth it in my opinion UNLESS you plan on using them all the time. if you use them once in a blue moon it will take forever for that tool purchase to pay for itself. i bought my mac set for 150$ lightly used on ebay i work on cars so my set is metric but when u goto buy them before shelling out big bucks you need to decide how long it will be before that purchase pays for itself in time savings.

I personally never found the 30 degree head a life saver. I have both a SK set and SO set. I personally like the SK better with the standard 15 degree. I find the 30 degree head hurts me then it helps working on bobcat equipment whick is nothing but one bad angle of attach after another. Buy the Martins. They are very good wrenched and with the money you save buy crowfeets. My angle wrenchs are possibly my most most used wrenchs. My crowfeets might edge them out.

All are US made
Mac 3/8 DA12
Cornwell 1/2 aw 1616
Cornwell 11/16 aw 2222
Cornwell 3/4 aw 2424
Cornwell 13/16 aw 2626
Cornwell 7/8 aw 2828
Fairmount 15/16 3719
Cornwell 1 aw 3232
Cornwell 1 1/16 aw 3434
They are used, have owners markings(except the mac) and light rust around the stamping on most. From what i can tell the cornwells are from the 30's-50's and in that time they made these in plain steel without coating, looks like the rust would easily come off.

The job I started a few months ago is working on truck loaders, Serco mainly, along with their hydraulic system. I had planned on getting crowfeet up to 2". I may end up needing angle wrench sizes bigger then 1-1/4, not sure yet. I regularly use 7/8 thru 1-1/16.

i've been working on const eq for over 25 years,
the only set of angle wrenches i bought were 3/8"-3/4" from snapon.

i have angle heads all the way up to 1 5/8"
some SO, some mac, and some matco
bought as needed, and especially the matco's for the thin head.

The new V8 tools #214 set is 30/60. If you can find a reseller with the new style in stock, they are around $60.

For the rare occasion that I am not talented enough to make a common combo wrench work would likely bend up something for one off or specialty job, 500$ is ok if you want them bad enough.

but when u goto buy them before shelling out big bucks you need to decide how long it will be before that purchase pays for itself in time savings.
This is true, the avg mechanic probably couldnt return it in a lifetime especially spending that kind of money in todays dollare toward 30 years in the future, would have been further ahead to put it in a CD and not have to work.

just went through the same thing this fall with tooltopia and the v8 214. sent in a complaint for false advertising because they stated it would be a wrench set with 30 and 60 degree ends. it was old stock and they do not have any new sets. so i returned them. they expect some time in mid january to have the new 30/60 wrenches. i have no use for a 15/60 wrench when every standard combination wrench has a 15* open end. but i agree, they looked pretty cheap, some wrenches were barely stamped with the name/size, wasnt expecting much for a 14pc wrench set under $50. maybe i'll cough up the change for the snap-on set.
