Good thread.

Curious on the flare nut crow's feet -- do y'all prefer the 6 point type or the 12 point type?

I prefer 6 point normally, but with these, I can see the 12 points coming in handy. Just worried about stripping bolt heads with 12 point.

Your thoughts?

Scott

I have both 6pt and 12 point sets, plus the regular crowfeet.

I bought a Snap On 6 point set about 20 years ago because the price was right. I've used it only a couple times. Would I pay list price for it, No. Would I buy them again with the discount (or used), YES.

My 12 point are Bonney lobular. If you get 12 point crowfeet, make sure they have a lobular or FD type points/lobes/corners. I bought my 12 points from Epstein. Used them only a couple times, but it's nice to have them handy, just in case.......

If buying only one or the other, I would go with the 6 point first.

Digging this thread up to say that Snap-On now DOES have FD+ crowsfoot wrenches, makes me want to upgrade!

I wonder when they are going to be available in metric?

I have not had to use them very frequently, but when I needed one, there was no other way to accomplish the job than a crowsfoot. I prefer the flare nut style, but there have been a few times that I needed the open ended type. Other than SO the only other ones worth paying for IMO are Armstrong.
