open sockets - any idea what these are?

I have been starring at these open type sockets in garage for many years now. The box full I have fit hex nuts from about 1" to 3" as shown in the photos. The labeling on one of the sockets reads:

"* MADE IN U.S.A. 2062 T-A-C-2 3/8 PAT. PEND. *"

I have been unable to find anything with that or similar part number on google.

Does anyone know what brand they are or what type of wrench fits them?

Thanks

Thanks for the information. I was thinking TAC was part of the part number. All the ones I see of the web are the ratcheting type that use standard square socket drives. I am trying to imaging what wrenches this one uses, as the cylindrical part is different sized on all of them.
