opening rust bullet 5 gal bucket

What's the best way to open the bucket, without buying a $40 bucket opener or destroying the bucket? In their video they use a fancy looking tool. The closest thing I can find on Amazon is $35, but it's not even the same style of tool. Does anybody have a good recommendation of how to open the bucket with hand tools or an nexpensive specialty tool?

The tool is a P-38 by Aqua-Tainer Co https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aqua-Tainer-Co-Bucket-Opener-No-P38-NEW-/182840562090 The listing on Amazon is wrong.

If you have a large, long, flat head screw driver, it will work fine too. Insert the tip into the slot in each tab and bend it up.

Replace the lid when not in use. Fully secure between coats. MAKE SURE YOU WIPE OFF ANY WET MATERIAL OR YOU WILL GLUE THE LID DOWN.

I remember those well, seeing that photo brings back a lot of memories. I still have a bunch of them around the house someplace, not sure where I put them though.

The flat head screwdriver worked fine. Some online videos made me nervous. I'm glad I got a respirator though, some heavy fumes there.
