Both are near the same price. Both are brand new. Leaning towards the techseries. What are your opinions, pros v. cons. Lets hear em!

Drawer layout ***** on the Matco and that MAC can be bought from Proto for 1/2 the cost :dunno: But they're both really nice tool boxes... I'd take the MAC out of the two.

Tech series all the way! I have the MB1080, 10 years old now daily hard use in a deere dealership. Great fit and finish, capacity and the drawers are tuff!

The mac is prettier, but I think I'd go with the matco... Something about them is growing on me. My new matco dealer is working diligently to get me into a 6s and out of my month old krl1022 lol.

The MAC is sharp, love the look and the color. That would be a no-brainer for me if they were of equal price and quality. I have no idea on the construction of either though.

I've been wanting to see that color in a Mac box, looks great. That being said between the 2 on looks the Mac for sure. I think the tech series only have a 1 year warranty the stuff does wear out unfortunately not always but it's defiantly possible if you plan on keeping it for quite some time.

The Matco powder coat in the glossy finish is not that great on the two pieces I have owned from them, now the silver vein is quality

I would go Matco. If they are the same price. The mac is 66" and the Matco is 72". More tool storage = more tools to buy.

One major thing for me. The mac only needs 1 key. Unlike the matco.

My retired tech, that's now our servive manager has that 4s, but like i said the keys are bs.
But like ruger said, think about the proto box. It's in the catalog of possable orders aswell, it's in your reps order lists, and he can get it for you.
The macs i've seen are strong as the 4s's, so it's really down to astethics in my mind.

In terms of visual appeal, the Mac box wins hands down. That thing is just ****! Like others have said, I think both boxes are about the same in terms of build quality. I've never been a huge fan of Matco, I prefer Snap-on and Mac tools. I currently have a Snap-on KRA2411 top and bottom box, but will be upgrading to a triple bank Macsimizer. Mac boxes are just beautiful

Mac is a much nicer looking box. Also think about what u might like to upgrade to in a couple of years. If you buy the Mac box now you will probably get the best trade in price to ur Mac dealer. Same goes with the Marco.

Well I went a complete different route. I ended up stopping by my matco dealer's house and found a box out of the 15 he had lol. Got a great deal imo on a 6s and I got a strion HL light as part of the deal. :p

6228RX (57in wide, 28in deep, 46in tall), Stainless top, stainless kick plate, and upgraded casters.

I used to own a Tech series myself and sold it to buy a snap on. Wish I'd just kept the Mac box in the first place.
