i've had to many times when i've needed an swivel impact socket or adapter. I've looked into the actual swivel sockets but there much to expensive, and honestly wouldn't a swivel adapter do the same thing. I've been shopping around and have come up on several adapters, I'm looking to save money but am not afraid to by off the truck brands.

First, the snap on, $55.75 http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=674944&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

the matco $51.95 http://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/CUP2BC/1-2-DRIVE-IMPACT-UNIVERSAL-JOINT/

the mac $44.99 http://www.mactools.com/shoponline/product/tabid/120/p-320658-12-drive-impact-universal-joint.aspx

the craftsman $11.39 http://www.sears.ca/product/craftsman-md-1-2-drive-impact-universal-joint/609-42432-42432

the mastercraft $22.99 http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...ximum+Dr+Impact+U-Joint,+1+2-in.jsp?locale=en

anything i've missed, put them in the comments.

I have the snap on one. Works good for day to day use. I was a GM tech & gave it a good work out daily. How often would you use it? For a home shop the craftsman would probably be ok.

have the 3/8 version of the snap-on. I use it most days and had to warrenty it only once. that was the old version the new one seems better made. the old one had a collar that wore out and separated.

Get the Craftsman pinless one, it is the same as the matco pinless if you can find it. Armstrong makes them as well in pinless.

Given that you included Mastercraft, I am making the assumption that you are in Canada. The Snap-On bogo's aren't always readily available up here in the great white north, but I can confirm that the impact swivels 1/2" and 3/8" are packaged together right now for about $55 cdn.

Harbor Frieght has or had those too. I have the 1/2 and 3/8" and both are still working fine after several years of hobby use on good I/R impact guns.

I think that the Snap On is the best made.I have both the impact swivel and the swivel sets.Sometimes the impact swivel with a socket is a bit too long but the swivel socket will fit.If your just using it at home as a hobby, I'd go with the Craftsman.

I use the Snap-on 3/8" one at work. It's a little worn from years of use, but has held up fine.

I'm a little leery of the pin style. The pins could work loose and tear up your hand. I've seen it happen on some older Sunex brand universals.
