i've had to many times when i've needed an swivel impact socket or adapter. I've looked into the actual swivel sockets but there much to expensive, and honestly wouldn't a swivel adapter do the same thing. I've been shopping around and have come up on several adapters, I'm looking to save money but am not afraid to by off the truck brands.

First, the snap on, $55.75 http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog

the matco $51.95 http://www.matcotools.com/catalog/pr...IVERSAL-JOINT/

the mac $44.99 http://www.mactools.com/shoponline/p...sal-joint.aspx

the craftsman $11.39 http://www.sears.ca/product/craftsma...09-42432-42432

the mastercraft $22.99 http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en

anything i've missed, put them in the comments.

I use a Matco 3/8 one daily. Super tough piece. I tried to brake it to get a new one undear warranty and it held up to my 2135timax adapted down so I got the 3/4 IR impact. Still no dice I ended up just giving up and later that week I just took it apart and got a new one..
At home I use my mastercraft and if you don't use them professionally everyday that will do the trick just fine. Actually I use a 1/2 one at work often and its never broke in 6 years.

I've got the snap on 1/2" one. I love it. My father-in-law has been a mechanic for 20+ years and he's tried the craftsman ones and broke 3 or 4 of them before he bought his snap on one, and hasn't broken one since. I've been pretty hard on mine, and it still works like new

The adapter will work as well, as long as you don't have clearance problems.

The dedicated sockets will fit in a tighter space.

Probably not a problem, if you can fit a gun in there.....

Always buy the good stuff. My Snap-on is at least 30 years old. And I run my air tools at 175 psi. That is the shut-off pressure on my compressor. I also have a 734 CP 1/2 inch impact wrench. 30 years in commercial use. Still works great.

I have Craftsman pinless. I use them with deep sockets all the time and its awesome. I'd go with any of the pinless offers Matco Armstrong or Craftsman
