Opinion on Porter Cable Job Boss compressor

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Porter Cable Job Boss 4.5 gallon compressor? Here's a link to specs: http://www.portercable.com/index.asp?e=547&p=4794

It's rated at 6 SCFM @ 90 psi, 7.7 @ 40 psi.

I currently have an older Craftsman 26 gallon/4 HP horizontal unit but the PC has a really small foot print and would save me alot of space. Primary uses will be tires, intermittent impact wrench, occasional die grinder. My Craftsman unit is rated at 7 @ 90, (9 @ 40)...so I just want to know if the PC performs as advertized.

PC isnt A BS company, so Id imagine it wou;ld perform as advertised. Now as for the die grinder, I dont think this will cut it for ya. That is going to be loud as well. It runs at 90db. My impact wrench runs at somethign liek 104, and I founf out the thunder gun is IRS loudest, so dont expect it to be quiet.

If it is like porter cables other stuff, it should be of very good quality.

I looked at some Porter Cable compressors when I was shopping for a 60gal unit. I wasn't really impressed. They where an all aluminum compressor. Atleast the Campbell Hausfields were cast iron. I've never owned one, and they may be the best compressor ever made, but they really looked like a low grade unit with a big name slapped on. The small ones you're looking at may be completely different if it is aimed at contractors instead of homeowners.

For such a small unit, it has great specs. I won't be using it daily, so it should hold up fine. My Craftsman is made of aluminum and has held up to sporadic use for about 10 years now. Thanks for the feedback.

my friend has a similiar porter cable but it has dual tanks and his father uses it basicly all day for nailguns and it still is running strong.

Won't keep up with a die grinder or air sander....IMHO
