I need a air compressor for a typical shop. Occasional paint / body work, blast cabinet, sand blast a frame or some rims here and there etc. I have a guy that wants to sell me a IR 5 hp 2 stage 60 horizontal 220v single phase. I think the model number is T-30 for $500.

Is this a good fit or should i look for a new 80 gallon castair thats $1700 clams.

Sorry about another air compressor question but your opinions are usually justified and I appreciate them!

If the IR is in good shape and not worn out thats what I would go for.

If you plan on sandblasting a frame I dont think either compressor is going to run a giant outdoor commercial sandblasting setup. But it would run one of the portable sandblasters.

if the IR has a 1725 RPM motor and a Type 30 that's a decent deal. Just make sure the motor is either single phase or three phase depending on your set up.
