Why?

The Dewalt in question is a Campbell Hausfeld compressor. If you look around you will see an number of lower cost 2 stage compressors using the same pump. Seems like a great price for someone who on occasion needs a lot of air for a home shop setup. In terms of heavy duty use I don't like that the motor is directly controlled by the pressure switch vs using a magnetic starter. I could believe the pressure switch may not last in heavier use (this is almost universal to lower cost "5 hp" compressors.

For what it's worth, my father's Husky 4hp, 2 stage is also a CH compressor and works fine. It's about 15 years old and we don't know how it was treated prior to getting it about 3 years back. These aren't the same parts (perhaps the same lesser hardware but different pump, pressure switch and motor at least. However, they are both CH compressors. CH seems to produce at least a reasonably good compressor at a reasonable price.

Why ?

I would rather have an ABAC italian made pump, and a mexican motor, rather than those two componenets chineez or india made,

Only advantage of the dewalt is 80 gal vs 60 gal.
