Search but didn't really find any info on armstrong's non locking flex ratchets. I've got an opportunity to get a few in half inch drive at at really good price. Thought about keeping one for myself and selling the rest. Was wondering for those that have used them are they just as good as the locking ones, which I already have. Thanks.

If we are talking the 36 tooth pearheads, they do not excite me. I have a 1/4" one and while it looks like a very nice unit, kinda SO like in some ways. I do not like the ratchet action on which gives me a very low overall opinion on it. Its home is next to a 1/4" craftsman flex head. The old USA ones used the same 32 tooth head of the earlier Matco's. Much better ratchet action and I grab it over the Armstrong all the time.

I don't care for the non Maxx Armstrong ratchets. The action is the same as a Craftsman ratchet but, with a screw held gear cover. I prefer fine toothed ratchets though.

Yes I'm referring to the 36 tooth ones. I might just buy one for myself and throw it in the tool box on my ram 2500. Guy only wants 10 bucks a piece for em.

I've owned a lot of pear head and round head Armstrong ratchets. They work well for what they are. They are much better than Craftsman ratchets, i've never had one slip on me. I however rarely use them now that I own fine tooth ratchets. I do still like the long handle pear head ratchets. They are tough and provide excellent leverage.
