Do you guys think the Larin 2 ton engine hoist is of decent quality for the price?

I know it isn't the highest of quality brand, but I wanted your take on it. Anything major wrong? Experiences with manufacturing defects?

I need a hoist for typical engine removals/installs and don't want to spend more than $200

It works fine, I've had mine for 10 years. It's moved engines from cars, truck, tractors, combines and all kinds of other stuff without any issues. Most of the imported 2 ton hoists look to be the same, just different color paint.

I appreciate the reassurance. I kind of thought all of the similar 2 ton hoists around looked the same. I just got the Larin one for $75 bucks. He gave me the box/packaging/receipt. They bought it last year to use on a project. He sold the project.
I'm just glad I didn't waste my money.

Looking at them, I'm pretty sure it is 100% the same thing as HF. While they maybe fine, I don't like how short they are.

i've had the 2-ton fold-able one for ~10 years too. no issues, but i don't use it a whole lot either. have had a fully-dressed BB chrysler & 727 trans on it a few times & moved engines in/out a few times as well. i'd get the fold-able one for sure. takes up much less space.
