opinions on this yost vise

i am thinking about this vise any one else have one and what is your opinion on it also i would be using it for work i do in my home garage or should i go with the 5" verson

The 5" version is what I have. I use it on a receiver mount on my truck. I can clamp up a pipe and stand on it without issue.

Do some research before purchasing. Yost makes good USA vises and also has Made In China vises for their lower level line. We bought some Yost vises at work, they were made in China.

That's the lower end Yost vise (likely COO China) that is meant to "clone" the Ridgid vise.

I'd just get the Ridgid F-45 for $235 as it would be a lifetime vise compared to that Yost, which is somewhat "use it til you break it" vise.

The fsv series is made in taiwan, and also carries a lifetime warranty.

I think for the price you can't go wrong, Yost has been making vises for over 100 years. They have many made in the US if that matters.

Not sure if this is made in China, Taiwan, or maybe Turkey, but I wouldn't worry about COO.
