If you want to take it apart again, don't use any liquid goop sealant.

I've only had one turbo with a bolt on adapter, and it just used a simple paper gasket. No issues with that, ever.

Why not use a v-band clamp? Weld the flange to the inlet and to the intake piping, and you're done.

Great idea but it may be a little late in the game.

Also, I had a lot of trouble getting my SS exhaust flanges welded with no warp. 3 out of 4 have at least some warpage.

Seems to me aluminum will be even more difficult to weld the bands on the tube with no warp. Open to input here.....

I'm to much of a beginner welder to do any of this myself.

Always bolt your flanges down tight to some sort of heat-sink when you weld them. I have about 10 different 1" thick pieces of aluminum with different bolt patterns drilled and tapped in them just for welding flanges.

If you use a gasket, use some type of universal gasket material or even some thin copper sheet. I wouldn't use any type of silicon on a turbo set up.

No need for graphite or other high temp stuff, the compressor side doesn't get more than a couple hundred degrees. A standard paper gasket like an intake manifold gasket is made of is all that is used in factory applications like this and it works perfectly. Like I said previously, use normal gasket material, or a cereal box. I've done it dozens of times and it works great.

great input thanks

wish I could weld aluminum myself.....

When I send it off I'm really not comfortable telling the pro welder how to do it...

But if I could this is what I would do to...
