What are good brands for new tool box? I would like to get a tool chest combo. I've outgrown my old Craftsman tool box as well as the top chest for it. Which are 26 1/2" wide. My tools are getting buried. I'm also looking to buy more tools.

Look at the US General toolboxes at Harbor Freight if for home use. They are good for the money, they are in the over 40 inch range or get the 56 inch. There is a 72 inch version too which you will probally not need as well. These newer Craftsman toolboxes are flimsy construction wise.

I've been happy with the Husky cart I have. The tool boxes are a similar build quality.

Do you have room for a 24" deep box? Seems everything is going that way, except I've seen some C-Man in Lowes that are about 18" deep. Their newer boxes aren't bad and worth comparing to HF. I think they are US-made as well!

I prefer the shallower ones since I have a limited work space.

Ask yourself if you need/want USB and power plugs as well.

You might want to consider used on CL as well. Someone else might be looking to go bigger and have just what you need!

I'm avoiding the new Craftsman tool boxes. There not as good as they use to be.

HF U.S. General Boxes are surprisingly really good. I have a Snap-on EPIQ box at work now, but the HF box worked great while I used it. Best value for the money these days if the budget is limited IMO. If you’re talking about getting anything bigger than the 44” then it’s time to start looking for a nice used Snap On or MAC box as the prices start to coincide.

Thank you all for helping me out. To make sure I don't get a piece of junk toolbox.

I've also been wondering if Milwaukee is a good toolbox?

Homak has several different grades. The higher end ones are good. HF is the best bang for the buck but the Masterforce has a better drawer layout. The Milwaukee box has an absolutely terrible layout IMO for mechanics tools.

If Menards had stores in Florida I’d own a Masterforce.

Look for good deals on Snap On, MAC, MATCO, Remline on CL or marketplace
