Oppps I cut the insulation on my wire.

I was pulling my 10/3 wire and it got hung up on something and I noticed that it had cut through the outer insulation,but it didnt cut through the actual insulation on the wire it self just the plastic that holds all the wires together,will this matter,or should I take it out and run new again?

I dont lose any sleep taping it up.

You should be ok if you tape it.Just as long as its not a really long gash.

Also dont put a staple on that area.

If you didn't damage the insulation on the conductors,just tape it up!

Paint over the tape with Liquid Vinyl or ScotchKote.

Tape it up and continue on.

If it is being inspected, I dont think it will pass with tape on it. That fact should tell you that the correct thing to do is replace the section of wire.
