Optical (non contact) Tachometers

Im in the market for a optical tacho to measure rotation speed of shafts and pulleys. Im looking at non contact laser types.

Anyone have any suggestions, or recommendations?

I got one of the $15 ebay units, works just fine.

2nd on the ebay unit, works great. I used some 3M reflective material vs. the stuff it came with and had better results.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm kind of curious how fast my drill press really turns at different settings.

Thanks, that ebay cheapie was one of the ones I was looking at. For that price I really cant go wrong I dont think.
