I am looking to pick up a fairly comprehensive 3/8 drive impact socket set, with both SAE and metric. It will be for light to medium personal use. I would like to know what everyone else has gone with and what the best bang for the buck is.

Thanks!

Both hopefully. I was looking at the sunnex brand online, but wasn't sure of the quality.

Sunnex is definitely my recommendation, I have a lot of them and prefer them to GP because they are stamped with the size, not just laser etched. They are corner relieved and just the right thickness, not too bulky.

They're priced well to boot. I would love to have snapon but can't justify the cost for my purposes.

I really think it would be hard to beat Gray Pneumatics or the HF pro line for medium duty use.

Sunex has 3/8 sets sae and metric for 69.99 each.

Model numbers: 3329, 3325

If you need a smaller range set the 3342 includes both metric and standard with deep and shallow. That is also around 69.99

Also with advance auto current coupons gearwrench can be found there for a nice discount.

Sunex 3342. It doesn't go as big as their individual sets, but anything that big most likely need a 1/2" drive anyway.

Look into Grey Pneumatic. They sell every size, type, and configuration. They are usually priced under SK

I wouldn't go HF here. They don't make 3/8" drive impact sockets in their "Professional" line, so you would only have their standard Cr-V set. They're marginal in terms of quality and tend to skip sizes. HF sets also have the disadvantage of not having individual sockets available to extend the set or fill in when one gets lost.

One can never spend enough on tools. Mostly because of lack of funds. Some great options here, thank you very much everyone!

I just recently purchased the Genius Tools TF 332m and am really impressed with the fit and finish. The completeness of the set is a big plus as well

I bought a sunnex set, and love it. if it takes anything bigger than a 3/4 or 19mm (the biggest sizes) i doubt my little m12 fuel is going to whip them off. that's when i reach for the long handled ratchet or the 1/2" gun.

i would buy either the NPT (Napa Professional Tools) impact sockets that are made by sunex or look into the Matco ADV line.

At 3/8 you should probably get something crmo. Don't know what's available in crmo though probably truck stuff or high end import.

I picked up a complete Cornwell set brand new in a case on ebay for $150. It came with bith SAE and MM in shallow and deep. List price on it was over $550. They quality is great and they have worked well so far.

Before I bought the Cornwell, I was going to get a Sunex set after comparing my options.
