hi guys i've been lurking on here a while, have a question for you all.
i have a welding a fab shop, and i sort of like the look of epoxy flooring . except with all the chips in it, which remid me of my highschool bathroom floor. plus i think it will pretty much get destroyed by all the heavy sparks and other things that go on here. (dragging beams and heavy pieces of metal will gouge it)
i was thinking of using a concrete stain, i was thinking a dark grey like mexican beach pebbles, and a bit of variance in the finish would look cool in my opinion and fit in with the style of everything else i have in my shop.
i was also thinking that this would hide any stains that are there or that might show up. plus i think it might be easier to patch if it gets wounded by the work that i do.
what are the disadvantages of this? no cars ever get parked in there other than old ones i am building, so no hot tires to worry about, but the torch and sparks and plasma cutter will do a fair bit of damage.
should i seal this? is it to make cleanup easier? what kinds of sealers are there?
i also have a tight budget, so spending 3k+ for flooring is out of the question. oh yeah my garage is approx 20 x 25
plastic floor tiles are out of the question for the obvious reasons as well.
thanks for all your help in advance.
