Options for Large Socket Holders? Westling?

I'm filling out my my 6pt sockets with matching 12pt sockets. That's not too much of an issue as I love my Hanson socket trays and will simply use those again for the 1/4-1/2" sockets in both SAE and Metric. I run into a lot of ARP fasteners that require 12pt sockets.

The problem comes in when you get to the larger sizes--30mm, 32mm, 34mm, 36mm. Westling Machine seems to be the only company with socket holders for these larger sizes. Are there alternatives to Westling? Westling seems well priced and made but I always like to explore the alternatives.

Maybe some diesel or large machinery mechanics have some insight?

As always, I appreciate the input fellas.

Regards,
John

But now that I've seen the westling... I'll be getting the set as well. I have a full set of impact and chrome clear up to 3/4 drive, including torx and Allen, so I can't get enough socket organization lol

Exactly. I can't handle loose sockets. I need to know where my sockets are at a glance. I guess I'm OCD in that I must fill the entire Hanson racks with every socket holder labeled on the rack. Otherwise, that blank spot haunts me every time I open the drawer.

FYI eBay has a nice selection of SK 12 point spline sockets for the smaller drive sizes. They work so much better than normal 12 point sockets.

My large size Westling hold up to 36mm. If I put my 38mm axle nut socket on there the 36 won't fit next to it.

I have up to 32mm short and deep on the regular metric trays and up to 1 1/4" on the regular SAE trays. I use Hansen for my chrome sockets but Westling was the only thing I could find that the impacts would fit on. I too hate loose sockets wandering around my box.

Proto makes a long and a short 3/4" rail:

I've been looking for new suggestions. I used to love the old metal trays with the bail handles.

The newer socket holders whether plastic post style or trays take up too much space.

I don't have the room and it seems too cluttered too me.

That's exactly why I ditched the Hansen style Kobalt trays. Too many unused sockets. I switched to Ernst and would never go back. I just put the labels that I want on and sold my stupid 20mm sockets.

I'm not a fan of the old style thin tin rail holders. They've always looked cheap and chincy to me. I take my sockets out of the blow mold cases and take the cases home and put them in a XXXL tote in my personal shop, they take up a TON of room in a box. I freed up a lot of room by just putting everything on rails. Plus, digging through 15-20 some odd cases just to find a 3/4 12pt 3/4 drive shallow socket was annoying. Regardless of how often I use it, the convenience of having it readily available is great.

Plus, whenever an apprentice or one of the helpers open my top drawer and see all those sockets and etc, it's like they've seen the face of god lol
