after many nights of researching & reading here, i've narrowed my choices down to epoxy-coat & the armorseal 100 hs floor coating. the local lowes has the epoxy-coat in stock so am kinda leaning that direction right now. i have already prepped the slab with a diamond grinder & removed most of the old u-coat-it coating that was left with some sanding around the walls still to come. i've noticed that some of the high spots in the slab were ground down level which removed the top layer of concrete down to the point that it looks porous with some stones showing. would i need to put down a second coat to get this sealed & covered? also is there any real benefit to adding a clearcoat? this is a working shop & i beat the **** out the floor, so know it won't look new forever, but would like to make it as durable as possible & look good for a while.

Yes and Yes.
The floor surface telegraphs through the coating.
Make sure the floor is as consistent as possible before laying any coatings.

A clear Urethane will add years to your floor finish depending on your traffic/use.
