Orange craftsman screwdrivers on ebay?!

Never knew they made this kind in orange?! I knew they made the old pro style in orange though. Anyone else ever see these, are they that rare?

Yeah, they made them for a while. Don't know that they still do, but the auction says they're new. They also made orange first gen Professional series screwdrivers too.

I have a set in red, I've seen the orange one's but never at my local Sears. The red one's are always there now though. It seems like the solid colored one's like those (and the red ones) are taking the place of the standard clear/red and clear/blue one's.

Several years ago, maybe late 90s, they sold these, along with the red handled ones in bargain bins, sometimes right next to the register. I believe they were $1 each if memory serves me correctly. They were clearly stamped "Craftsman". Entirely seperate and different from the orange handled Professional ones.
I have a small drawer in my rollaway top box with these. Most have never been used even after all these years. Brand spanking new. Approximately one dozen of them.

I actually acquired four orange Craftsman screwdrivers about a year ago. Three of them are the classic Craftsman style while one is the old Craftsman Pro style. I mainly bought them because that reminded me of my orange Craftsman box. I have not used them once. I think I paid around $8 for all four.

If they were the old pro style handle and not the basic style handle id throw a bid at them. I just dont like the basic style grips, hard to really clamp down on with greasy hands.

The orange and red handled screwdrivers were commonly on sale for $1 each about a decade ago. They came in bulk boxes, with a mix of tip types and sizes. The common sizes (e.g. #2 cross) went quickly, so you sometime saw boxes of T15, T20 and awls.

They were explicitly the bargain models, and could not be warranty-exchanged for a clear handle screwdriver. I don't know what they would exchange them with today.

I bought dozens back then, getting a few more each time I couldn't find one. At $1, it was way easier than complaining. Eventually the office was saturated, they stopped being hoarded, and peace and love reigned.

Cool, never knew there were screwdrivers in this handle style and color combination before. I have a pry bar I got with the same exact handle probably more than ten years ago, has held up great despite being abused before I knew to treat it better.

If I didn't already have more screwdrivers than I'll ever need, I'd be tempted to bid. Very nice!
