I know there was some controversy awhile back about COO not being marked on newer Snap On ratchets. I just received an F80 and it is marked. Thought you guys might like to know.

Compared to a S936

Been like that for a while now...

Good to know. These are the first Snap On items I've owned and both are new to me this week. I got the 1/2" drive for $50 at a pawn shop.

I was concerned after reading about the lack of COO but appears that was unfounded.

Remember a lot of **** online is just posted to get people stirred up about a non issue. The Snap On COO “controversy” was one of them.

Sweet! I have several from the 1980s and they're marked on the handle as the logo on the ratchet head was a red plastic disc. Most are marked either on the head or handle just wondering why they took it off for a short time.

Well there was no good reason to remove USA from things like ratchets and pliers. Then their official response was something to the effect that 'COO doesn't matter when its Snap-on'. Plenty of people and franchise owners disagreed.

I have 6 dual 80's bought in 2010 I believe. They don't have USA anywhere on them.
The kits interchange with some Bahco ratchets. The pawls weren't continuously US sourced. The ratchet body was. The pawls were redesigned in the last 5 years or so.
