Placed the order yesterday, very excited to not have to roll up tarps anymore!

(2) 9x7 stamped steel carriage style doors by CHI, with windows along the top, tinted glass. R16.5 insulated with a steel backing. One will be a high lift, openers to come later as money permits.

Was hoping to get a 4' wide custom door in the same style for the internal shed, last rep told me this was possible, but now the new rep is saying no. Trying to contact CHI directly to see if this can be done. I hope so.

Pics when they get installed.

What a coinky-dink. I got a call earlier that my new insulated Wayne-Dalton door had arrived, so I definitely know the feeling. I spent the evening clearing a space in the garage for the box as Im expecting foul weather while changing doors, now I just have to figure out how to move a 16' door with a 6' pickemup bed. Regardless, that should be installed this weekend and I'll probably choose a vented heater next week so hopefully in the very near future I will have a roasty-toasty garage full of projects to post. Might even have to start my own thread in the garage gallery finally.

 Cheers!

Done! So nice to have doors. Happened just before Christmas, but I've been off work since and haven't been near the computer. A Better Door and Window of Mokena did the install work, and did a great job, very happy with the results.

The right door is a high lift, you can see the angle iron for the spring pad in the middle of the window.

A little ingenuity and staying off the main roads allowed me to transport 32' sheets of metal home for a carport back before I had a large trailer. I used the receivers on the front and rear of the truck. Should have seen the stares!

I was actually going to do exactly as you did but the guys at Lowes didnt want to be responsible, I couldnt convince them otherwise (apparently theyve been sued a few times and ARE legally responsible for anything loaded at the store), and they threw in free delivery as I live ~1000 ft from the store. I told them they shouldve just driven a forklift over or just pushed a cart, but they used their big truck anyway.
