I'm about to start a 26'x30'. I'm getting ready to do the drawings and have a question. I want 10' walls, 2x4's. Can I order precut 2x4's to acheive this, taking into account the base plate and two top plates how long would they be? :dunno:

A good full service lumber yard (not a big box) should be able to get 10' precuts which are about 9'-7 1/2" or 115 1/2" long (10' - 1 1/2" - 1 1/2" - 1 1/2").

I ordered all 8 footers then trimmed they to 96" exact. they were anywhere from 96 to 96-1/4". A little **** i guess, but it didn't take long in the chop saw and the top walls were much more level. I suppose you could have a place cut them for you, but why not cut them yourself?
I wouldn't leave it up to them to have them cut to your length, you are going to measure each one to make sure anyhow. I'd just order the 10 footers and cut them down to your size.

As with Dipper, I'd say buy the ten footers and chop them all yourself. Fairly easy to line them all up, snap a chalk line across them and then buzz them all off with a circular saw.
