Well it's been a while since I moved to Oregon, used to have a nice setup in TX (30X52 with metal Z purlin and I-beam loft I fab'd myself) and it took me a while to get going on my shop out here...posting a few pics of it in construction as well as post construction and starting to fill up.

It's a two section shop, 30X40 for the main and a 14x40 RV bay in back. Pole barn construction fundamentally but a few twists to the simply box types out there. First I designed it in a Gambrell style to match the Ag barns in the area - I did not want it to stick out oddly for the area. It's also wood sided, board and bat style vs. going the cheaper/easier route of metal. It's up close to my house and I wanted it to augment, not detract from the house's "curb appeal". Lastly I have a full upstairs floor, which one day I'll build out a man-room and/or apt into....whenever the heck I get the time!

I'm working on my wiring now, airline is in (Champion 7.5hp compressor sitting in the RV bay is nice and quiet!), and also working on finish out of my bathroom and slop sink....doing all the inside stuff myself, spending both free hours a weekend on it(!):dunno:

Thanks all, i'm pretty happy with it so far. Of course I should've made it BIGGER but that can be said of it regardless of the size. I did plan for a two post lift, have reinforced pads placed for a Bendpak 10K like what I had in Austin.

The dormers were not cheap add ons, but they really give a lot of room to the upstairs. I plan to have an exterior stair and deck added soon to give access to the upstairs - thought about interior stairs but a) did not want to detract from interior shop room and b) wanted to have a separate access to the upstairs in case I do turn it into an apt instead of just storage. I did build an access hatch in the floor though, so I can run a ladder up to gain access to the upstairs as well as potentially mount a hoist for heavier lifting.

A couple more shots included

It's a great area, I'm right off Stafford rd so nice easy shot into - anywhere...only downside is road noise on Stafford at Mt....but I'm getting used to it

How tall is the ceiling upstairs? I assume the RV portion you just enter from one of the sides towards the rear?

Thanks all! The doors are 12'w x 10' high. I do have the RV bay setup as a side entrance and used the grade of the land to get 14' ceiling height in its bay. It has a 12'w x 13' tall door. Height to the upstairs floor in the main shop is 12' 6" (just enough for the future Bend Pak lift. Upstairs has full height ceilings, about 8' in center. The upstairs useable room is 15'w by 40' long but the dormers expand this as well.

It was the job that initiated it. Offer I didn't want to refuse. Miss TX rock crawling and my buds there terribly but love it up here. Hated the job in TX but like the one in Or a lot. Cannot beat the nature and scenery here. Plus a good place to raise my daughter to boot....

Hey where did you get that sink? Do you have the name, model number, and/or measurements? I am looking for something similar to put in garage in the house we are building.
