Went to the O's parts house today. While waiting I checked out a 1/4 drive ratchet with a foot long handle(estimate, I didn't bother getting a tape measure) It is a rather nice looking pear head ratchet, 44 teeth?, made in Taiwan, not China. It's very slim and would be nice if a long handled 1/4 inch drive is needed(wanted). I have no idea how well it would hold up to heavy use but it obviously would fit in close places which cars and other machines have plenty of. Price $21 if I remember right.

Performance Tool, Power Torque, and GM Performance are three brands we sell that are made by Wilmar, and all three are pretty good. Most of the stuff is on par with Kobalt, Husky, etc.. I work at the O'Reilly warehouse out here and probably a good 80% of the hand tools we use in the shop are one of the three Wilmar brands. I like them, they're built good, and it all seems to be durable. We get a lot of returns, some of the ratchets are ****, like the ones with the three different size lugs, and I see a lot of broken breaker bars.


But, the ratcheting wrenches, the socket sets, and most of their standard ratchets are good. I wouldn't expect any issues with the ratchet that was linked, but there is a chance you can get a broken one, it happens. There's a lot of clunkers though, I doubt quality control at Wilmar is the best, I see a fair amount of ratchets with broken selectors, broken lugs, broken internal parts. The ones I use in the shop and at home have been great for me though.
