I looked at the challenger and the Bendpack. Both well made. The bendpack was much more difficult to assemble and required an additional air supply. Trying to keep the garage uncluttered I chose the Challenger and love it.

I could not find garages with black ceilings but I thought the idea would work. It makes the ceiling feel higher.

Wow. I have been lurking for some time on GJ picking up great ideas from many people but I have to say this is one of the most well coordinated efforts I have seen to combine functionality with appearance. I am totally stealing your color scheme! The idea to wrap the door, fridge, freezer and water heater are the icing on the cake. The attention to detail is second to none.

I have a couple of questions. One, where did you source the cabinets (brand, vendor)? Two, the same question for the gas pump handle and how did you attach it to the door? I am in the process of tossing a great deal of junk in the garage in the anticipation of a move to a new home in the next couple of months. I'd love to create hidden storage that looks so good in the new garage.

Thanks for sharing your build!

How does the tile hold up to things like jack stands and jacks. I really like it but would be affraid of them cracking when heavy metal objects are on them.

Super nice taste on the finishes! What material sis you use on the inside of the garage doors? Plastic or something? It looks nice and CLEAN! The Checkerplate on the walls is nice too!

Let me try and answer a couple questions. First the tiles do hold up amazing. I'm not the most serious mechanic but my jack and jack stands have never had an issue. I have dripped plenty of things but no cracks.

The cabinets are top quality. Found them with a company called We're Organized.

The inside of the garage doors was a challenge because I couldn't find anyone who had done this to copy. They are just insulation panels that are a dense styrofoam. I was able to pop each one out. They were fairly beat up so I used standard drywall mud and gave each one a few coats. Primed them then a couple coats of paint and popped them back in. It did not add weight to the doors and was easy to handle when each section could lay flat on my work bench. The checkers around the walls are just strips of 1" tiles with a molding above and below the tiles to give it a finished look.

Rotary racer I found the fuel pump handle on eBay. I simply drilled horizontally through the top of the nozzle and the bottom of the grip into the side of the fridge and attached with screws. The hose I cut to length and screwed on the inside of the hose so the screw could not be seen.
