I have a few sets of Snap On tools that came in nice plastic organizer trays. My original Snap On screwdriver set is over 20 years old. The tray is still functional but it has a few cracks in it. The organizers work well for me as they allows me to see, at a glance if tools are where they belong.

So, I was thinking of using some sort of pourable urethane or rubber to fill the underside of the trays.

Has anyone done this? If so, do you have a product recommendation?

Good idea. I would tape over the cracks then flip it over. Two part epoxy would work. I would probably buy 1-hour just to give you plenty of working time.

Or Gorilla glue. Gorilla glue expands as it dries so I would only fill it 1/4 to 1/3 full, then let it cure over night. Gorilla glue gets basically filled with bubbles as it expands and cures. So it would be lighter than epoxy and I believe is a little more flexible. So I would probably go the Gorilla glue route.

I bought some snap on wrenches used and previous owner sprayed foam in bottom of tray and when I asked him about it he said he trimmed it flush with a long bread knife. He taped the crack that was in it first and it turned out pretty nice imo.

Well, after a long time dealing with paralysis by analysis, I finally tried something. I ordered a casting resin kit off of Amazon, $16.

I mixed it up, 1 to 1, according to the directions and poured it into the inverted tray.

It's got a 2.5 minute working time and like all epoxies, cures with an exothermic reaction. Total time to cure is 10 minutes.

It is really amazingly simple and I think it will work, long term. This tray is really stout now.
