For seven years I rented warehouse space (6,000 sq/ft) to store my cars and parts. But all that changed recently when my landlords expanding business needed the space.I sold as many cars as I could but that left me with 13 cars, 2 motorcycles, and heaps of parts.
I rented 2 indoor storage units 14w x 45l x 14h. I managed to get 4 cars into one unit but the second unit, where all the parts and motorcycles are stored I could only get one car. That is because it is not organized. I was thinking of a platform with enough height to get the motorcycles, plus most of my engines on the ground .On the platform I could store tires, wheels, seats, and small parts.
The problem is I don't know how strong it should be to support the weight (???), what size lumber...etc. If anyone has built something like what I am thinking of please send pictures. Suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like it would be cheaper to build your own small warehouse instead of renting

pics of the situation would help

What about a few 4 post lifts. It wouldn't be cheap but you could always sell them later to recoop some money, heck with inflation going the way it is you might make money.
