As Ive become more and more involved with my garage I have accumulated more and more tools. When it comes to electrical tools I will really only by Dewalt. I was raised that way and the one and only time I bought one of those ryobi drills it was a pile of u know what. So I have 4 or 5 different Dewalt power tools of different ages that all seem to use different batteries so I was wondering what the best way for a permanent setup for the chargers would be. Would yall mount them on a wall or something. I would love any and all suggestions and am curious to see how yall have done it. Thanks

What I did was cut a piece of plywood to mount my chargers and a 6 slot power strip.
Hangs on wall with chargers plugged into power strip, but can be picked up and taken along to where needed easily.

What about the batteries? anyone have an Idea how to store the batteries? Tired of having them on the bench.

Yeah im also curious about that also? There has gotta be a better way to store the extra batteries than just leaving them on the bench?

Not my idea. I think I saw it on this site. Built out of 3/4 inch plywood and customized for the tools I had.

I put my chargers on the wall. When charging the batteries stay "locked-in", they don't really lock to the chargers but they're secure enough that they won't fall out. I've always made battery racks for my batteries, and put the rack wherever it fits or wherever it's useful. In my previous workspace build the rack was mounted to the wall, up out of the way of the benchtop but at arms reach. Now it sits on the bench against the wall, and doesn't get in the way.

How do you have the drills setup so they stay up like that?
I think I can see some kind of rack in your very last picture, but am not sure how it works.

It looks like he hollowed out old battery packs and screwed them to the ledge.

Yup. It's a trick I came up with when my NiCads died. I was able to revitalize some of the NiCads, but after time they just finally puke and you wind up throwing them away. Got the idea to take the cells out and use the shells to hang tools. It's exceptionally convenient, and I can hang tools anywhere I want.

in my last garage had the chargers mounted to the inside of a cabinet door. now waiting for the cabinets phase of current workshop, so they don't have a permanent home yet.

batteries are stored in a bag with a charger in case I need to grab them and a tool and go.
