organizing test leads, cables extension cords etc

looking for tips and ideas for the organization of long wiry things that end up in a rats nest more than i like to admit to............i don't need these on a daily basis and would like to store them covieniently in my tool boxes so when i need them it isn't like fight with medusa................pics apreciated

was thinking more of storage in a tool box, not hanging and collecting dust, but when i do i need them now type of thing..as i don't use them often

For the extension cords, cut a length of 3/8 or 1/2" plywood about 3-4" wide by 12-18" long (the length really depends on how long of a cord you've got. Cut "V" or "U" shaped notches in both ends, about 2-3" deep. Wrap the cords around these.

I'm sure it would work on a smaller scale for test leads, etc. Maybe some styrene sheet from the local hobby shop?

I use the orange reels from Walmart . They roll up fast and store well.

Longer cords I roll up and stuff them into a toiletpaper tube. Short leads I just wrap around the tool. .....Bob
