Hey guys,

I am new here and just thought I would would post about my 2 car garage that I am trying to organize. Moved in last year and need space to park and work. I am building an airplane, I restore Cannondale bikes, and I do woodworkiing projects. I started with overhead storage as seen in a thread last year. Thanks for the inspiration. I have been lurking and learning and am now diving in. I had to go from a 3 car to a two car and change is neither hopeful or fun. I am planning a 8X12 shed in the side yard to hold more tools and stuff. Thanks for looking and comments or ideas very welcome.

I don't do heavy duty work, mostly car detailing and minor maintenance, but feel free to check my thread out. I may have some ideas that click with you.

Would like to see more of your garage. I have a general two car shop that includes woodworking. I also have an 8X16 shed for a warehouse. Check it out and see if you could use any of those ideas.
Thanks for posting!

Put EVERYTHING on castors.... That will let you roll stuff around for easy access and cleaning. I lost track but I probably have 300 or so castors rolling around in my shop.

All of the cabinets you see in this pic are on castors. Even my welding chair rolls around.

The gray drawer units are bolted to those Harbor Freight furniture dollies. I have about a dozen of the large and small sizes rolling around. They have everything from engines and transmissions to stacks of wheels and tires sitting on them. My arbor press is sitting on one also.
This is one of my rolling work centers.

I got it cheap at Lowes after it got dropped off the truck. It goes outside when i have to do any cutting with the chop saw.

Nice set up. I like the use of the file cabinets in the shop. That side yard pad looks great, and will provide a lot of flexibility. Good job, and thanks for posting your progress!

Yesterday I completed the storage lofts. My neighbor said that was the proper name. Here are the before and after pics. I know it does not look like it but there is quite a bit of stuff up there.

Been awhile and been working in the garage. Added a cool light holder this week from ebay.

Good luck on your challenge. That must have been especially difficult downsizing, couldn't imaging going back to a single now that i have a double. A triple would be a dream hahaha. The shed will save your garage progress no doubt.

I don't think I ever shared photos of the shed. I put that in around 2013. HOA friendly of course. It holds a ton of stuff that I just cannot put in the garage. I need one three times as big.

Good to see your posting again. I love the light sign over your bench. It is really eye catching. I like the shed you show as well. It is a nice one and looks good near your patio and yard. Looking good for your garage work!!

Best Regards
Herb

Thanks Herb,

I did not plan it, but that frame for the shed fit in the space like it was engineered by Germany's finest BMW guys. LOL.

Hello again,

I have been acquiring parts here and there as other projects get done. More shelving. Two car garages are awesome.

AZ: i happen to see your thread while looking for another one i've posted on in the past and noticed you have a lot of your cabinets on casters. i'm building a wedding chair and i've bought some noisy casters and wondering if you might know of any that you prefer for turning ability (don't need locks) and quiteness. do you have a favorite? you can post here or post over on my wedding chair thread if you haven't seen it yet maybe you have something better in mind so feel free to post cause I'm just on PROTOTYPE #1.

i also like your ORGANIZING so keep up the great work.

cheers
