Let me show you how does Russian garage look like. Every garage that I saw in GJ is a separate building, but most of my "comrads" have garage neighbors, as me. This a front view of my garage in april.

When I have thrown out the remained stuff, was accepted to repair,I decided to begin with lifting up the gates.

After I made new lighting, and installed electric case with the new counter.

You asked about hand tools. I bought this kit ERMAK brand. I with pleasure would name to you good brands of Russian manufacturers of the manual tools but I doubt that such is. Thats what happen when I tried to turn off crankshaft pulley bolt.

Hello from Estonia. Those long rows of garages from the Soviet times are cool. I rented such a garage for a few year here and it's plenty of life there, people helping each other out and having barbeques in the weekends. Kind of a subculture.

a lot of things to do. Happens so I can't concentrate on one task, and trying do everything. I need to make good plan. Its so easy but its so hard ))
epoxy floor, finish work with walls, new door in cellar and stairs there. make good ventilation system. organize work place. organize gym place. ...

winter is coming soon, tonight is going to be -6 C. So I better begin from making my garage warming.

You need to get some good quality tools... which, I'm sure, will come in time.

Thats for sure. I hope you will help me with a choice a good tools.

Hello Estonia. My childhood passed near to this country. I lived in Lithuania, Kaunas.
About people helping each other out and having barbeques - thats 100% true.

Very cool build. As much as we love those big fancy garage mahal's I guess a lot of us can relate to, and be inspired by, a simpler build like this. The floor came out great as did the whole place. Some finishing touches to the floor and white paint on the wall and ceiling and you have a clean and bright place.

It reminds me of a garage I had 20 years ago. Not pretty on the outside but after some work it was very capable on the inside.

Seeing your power connection, I was wondering if structures like that have to have the power hooked up under code requirements?

That turned out really well. You and your "comrades" (...sorry...bad joke day...) are to be congratulated. I hope its reasonably well insulated; just because you live somewhere cold it doesn't necessarily follow (*scowls at uninsulated garage attached to house*). Is that cellar just a deep dug-out, or is it shelved?

What was the building used for originally? I assume (for no other reason than appearance) it dates back to the Soviet era, and I am given to understand private vehicle ownership was rather rare for the average citizen then. Off-site storage for apartment dwellers?
