Orphaned wires, what to do with 'em?

I'm going to be pulling (DELETING) the 50 amp 240v double pole range circuit in my main panel and putting in a 60-100 amp feed to a subpanel (surface mount). The range is gas, so I don't need the circuit (space in panel) for it, but I do need it for the sub.

My question is, "what do I do with the range circuit wires?" I'm in a rental, so I need to be able to put things back when I leave if necessary. Do I cap 'em and push them back out of the main panel box, just cap and leave dangling the box, something else???

I would just electrical tape the conductors individually and push out of the box. Now label them as to their function and breaker slot in case you fall off the face of the earth.

I'd label them and tuck them out of the way, that way you can restore to original when you leave, next tenant might have an electric stove.
