I used moisture resistant drywall and covered with FRP (Fiber-Reinforced-Plastic). Haven't moved in yet but it looks like it's going to work well.

Here's a picture of my walls. The FRP goes up the walls eight feet:

I am going with OSB on the walls, pained with an oil based primer, then a latex finish coat. For the ceiling I am going with 20x3 foot metal panels.

I guess the saying "compare apples with apples" never crossed your mind?:headscrat
Sure a 6 inch nail will hold more than a 2 inch screw. :lol_hitti

How about a 4 inch nail vs a 4 inch drywall screw? We all know about proper screws for proper applications, but most people don't follow that. They see a wood screw in HD and that's that. But you're just old, and seem to want an argument, or you just don't get it. Either way, it's probably just simpler to ignore you.

So back on subject. Even if Sheetrock is not required by code, why wouldn't you give yourself some fire protection? Everyone goes through the hassle of "fixing up the garage/shop", why not just go the one step more?

This tread is of interest (thanks to the OP) as I am getting ready to start finishing the walls in our metal outbuilding.
I am planning on using OSB but reading that attaching something to it with a nail or a screw the holding power is minimal concerns me. Have shelves and cabinets among a few other things I was going to hang.
So other than OSB what can be used in a metal building that isn’t outrageously expensive?
I did try searching for other posts on this but kept on getting Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
