Before I put up the osb, is it necessary to put up a plastic barrier using clear plastic? Or do I just simply go osb straight to the trusses?

Thanks

Always put a vapor barrier on the heating side of the insulation. Even if you are going to loose fill the attic at a later date. Plastic is cheap.

So are you saying to put plastic on top of the trusses or staple the plastic to the trusses and then osb over the plastic?

Thanks

I'd suggest TYVEK between truss or studs and outside sheeting. Poly sheeting on the heated side between the framing and interior sheeting/wall covering.

You are talking an OSB ceiling right? Not you’re roof sheathing.
Plastic vapor barier on the bottom chord of the trusses then the OSB.

If you were talking roof sheathing, then no plastic.

if your attic is well ventilated you could probably skip the vapor barrier in the ceiling.

but if you're going to use it put it on the warm side of the insulation like others have said: Plastic vapor barier on the bottom chord of the trusses then the OSB.
