Have the prices been dropping in your area? I seem to remember $13 and change a sheet for 7/16" Was in Home Depot this morning picking up some 2x4's and saw it was $10.75 a sheet this morning. I need to buy a bunch of this stuff, but have been putting it off because of the price.

Any way just wondering if I should wait a few more weeks or jump on it now.

I'm in south western PA, I know that matters!! Keith

Yeah, it's up and down. I remember sheeting some interior walls in the garage several years ago and it was around 4 bucks a sheet. Then when I needed a bunch to do a roof, it was around 13.

I can't see it going way down anytime soon, I wouldn't wait too long before you jump on it though, it could go right back up.

10.50 a sheet in Rke VA at both lowes and HD, lowest it has been in a long while, and yes I remember it being 4 a sheet in 2008 when I built my garage.

I HAVE to pick up a few sheets to finish a small wall in the shop. I was going to run a metal roof in the main section of the shop, however the deal fell thru, so it's looking like OSB is going to be my choice again, or I will just procrastinate until they get more 2nds in at the surplus place. Up and down here, better get you some and set it aside for the project while the price there is down.

I'm calling BS on the whole hurricane season line. It was well over $14 a sheet right around Christmas time, not a lot of hurricanes then. I was told FWIW, that a couple of local plants went from 3 to 2 shifts a day, to slow production, making the demand rise, and allowing for a price increase. However I keep hearing about a rash of new construction going on around the country, so you think demand would far out strip supply forcing the plants to run at max capacity. Who knows, I'm starting to think lumber commodities are being traded by speculators much like the fuel oil industry. Keith

It used to be so seasonal that when I was using a lot of USB 10 years back, I would go and buy it in January for 5.99 and store it in my garage. By summer it would be up to 12.99.
I never saw it personally, but I heard of some house contractors doing the same thing with a thousand sheets or more. Saved a lot of money by handling it twice.

Last year I bought some for a small project. I thought it had been out in the sun as the sheets were kinda hot. Nope. It was still curing/drying. The price stickers all turned black and it was still warm to the touch two days later when I took it out of the truck!

Followed Rentawrench's advice. Stopped by East End Lumber, not only was it the EXACT same OSB, it was $3.40 a sheet more expensive!!! I bought the 2 sheets I needed to get me thru that job. I figured I bought an hour of driving to the nearest HD for $7 I over payed.

That being said. OSB is down to $9.64 a sheet here!!! I'll be picking up enough to do my ceiling if the price holds till payday. Keith

Yes, we are at 9.50 from 14.50 just a a few weeks ago. No hurricanes up here in WA.

Still at $14 in Auburn, WA. I'd like to buy it $9.50! I have the front eight feet of my garage in bare studs and it would be very nice to insulate and sheathe that thing.

Stopped by my local Lowes and sure enough, 7/16" OSB had dropped from $14 a week and a half ago to $9.90. That's a significant drop and now I know what I'll be doing in a few weeks.

There are a lot of new homes being constructed within a 15 minute drive of my house. I've been getting full sheets of OSB along with 1/2 sheets (and a ton of other supplies) for FREE from the dumpster. It is amazing what builders throw away...

HD has sheets for ~ $10 in my area.
