I've done some searching and was unable to find much info on these hammers. I was browsing Princess Auto today and a few hammers caught my eye. As soon as I picked one up, I knew I was holding great quality. Turns out they are made in Italy. Needless to say I got a "sample" of every single style they had with the composite handles. One of them is even a 2lb copper hammer! The total came to about ~200 for all of them (not including the SO hammer pictured, which was not from Princess Auto ). I will go ahead and say that it's the most comfortable hammer grip I've ever used.

So on to my questions, does anyone else have any experience with these? How do they hold up in the long run? Are they popular in Europe? Thanks, I'm dying to know!

They look cool at least! Maybe Strouty will see this and chime in since he's KING OF THE HAMMERS.

80 CAD or about 60 USD. The plastic 1.5lb one was about 50 CAD. The rest were between 20 and 30. Wasn't cheap but the copper one was the only one in the store and I knew I'd regret not getting it when I left the store. I have never seen these in the store before and I go quite often. Since Princess Auto takes in a ton of surplus stuff I kind of figured these hammers are a one time thing they got from who knows where and they would never have them in stock again. This is why I bought one of each, haha. Call it OCD or something. They were all still cheaper than what I saw online.

Now I am trying to find one online. Osca's website doesnt show many part numbers. Does it list the part number on the hammer?

Seems like this website lists part numbers (I think they are the only importers or at least the main one). http://www.angloamericantools.com/tool_manufacturers/osca.html

Searching "Osca hammer" on amazon.com also seems to bring up models with part numbers.

Just seems really strange to not be able to find reviews for such well built tools. My guess is that they are out there, just not in English.

Osca hammers are relatively common here in Germany and sold under various labels like

Würth, Elora, Cimco, Promat, Alarm, Atorn and more.

Real good quality !

Engineer hammer labeled by Alarm after 9 month @ daily work.

2 engineer hammers labeled by Promat I used @ home.

Awesome, thanks! This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. This may be a stupid question, but what is the purpose of the chisel on an engineer hammer? They feel really great in hand though, well balanced.

I have a few, looking at picking up that sledge for $30 this week at PA! Waiting on a sale for their other sizes as well, I really like the rubber composite handles.

GOOD NEWS! PA has put the ball peins, soft mallets and sledges on sale! Go back for a price adjustment, I will get the other machinist hammer I'm lacking, as well as the club and non-marring nylon!

Excellent, thanks for the heads up! I was going to go to PA tomorrow anyway for some air fittings. Too bad they don't have the others on sale but I'll take what I can get!
